Look Book: Katy Perry ‘Unconditionally’ Music Video

Katy Perry is a fashion icon for the pop culture. With her own frangrances and eye lashes, she takes her looks to the next level each and every time. Her new album Prism has introduced us to a “grown up” Katy. Her new music video “Unconditionally” exudes lavish royalty.

Stylist Johnny Wujek tells MTV, “Ours was a timeless story, inspired by Anna Karenina, Dangerous Liaisons, and Dr. Zhivago, set against a beautiful landscape meant to be a montage of beautiful images, I treated it like a fashion editorial. Each frame was its own cinematic moment. Each dress told a story. She was beautiful and dramatic, she was strong.”

Look 1: Lace and Pearls
Katy’s first look sends chills down your spine as Katy Perry is a white vision in the snow. Katy wears a Chanel dress (Pre-Fall 2013). The Chanel couture gown is soft and elegant, which is a new persona from KP. The look is accessorized with strands of pearls and black mary jane shoes. A nude manicure keeps attention on Katy’s face. The make-up has Katy’s cheeks a pink flush and full fushia lips.

Look 2: Emerald Velvet
Velvet is a hard look to rock, but Katy Perry carries it with grace! The emerald Dolce & Gabbana dress seen in this video is from a 2004 collection. There is a rounded, modest neckline with diamond detailing pulled down to a matching belt, but the real accessory is the owl! The plum lips match the surrounding curtains remind us again that this look was made specifically for this scene.

Look 3: Firey Brocade
Described as his “favorite gown from the video. Such a great mesh of classic meets our prismatic future,” Wujek’s dress is on fire. The orange brocade gown is from the autumn/winter 2013 Wes Gordon collection. Most shots of this dress are a tight close-up on a custom collar and Dolce statement cross earrings from the the autumn 2013 show. Fire and shine, Katy’s lips are a deep matte red and the look, again is perfection!
