Kala Salon: Back to Red!
On a quick trip to Chicago, I was introduced to Asif Rajan, owner of Kala Salon, where I was given a fresh cut and color treatement that’ll make any girl jealous!
Kala Salon: The Introduction
If a girl invests in high quality hair care, her stylist is her best kept secret. Bollywood choreographer Miss Sohni raves about the styling talents in India and insisted she knew the best in the biz.
Asif Rajan, stylist to Bollywood stars and creative mind for Fashion Week runways and beyond, started his career in Mumbai. Now based in Chicago at Kala Salon, Rajan brings his experience and focus on quality to the States. Without having to travel across the ocean, I knew I was in for the works.
A quick conversation with Asif Rajan and color expert Victor G. and the decision was made – my red was staying, it was just to evolve to the next level of “chic and effortless.”
Kala Salon: The Process
Asif Rajan knew I was in desperate need of a haircut as I have spent the last year letting my locks grow. With his methods and unique ways, I watched Rajan chop away at my hair, but he did assure me my length was not going anywhere.
Next up was Victor – the man behind the color. I walked in with grown out highlights of a faded red shade. He used a hand-paint technique to soften the transition from my natural roots to the red. With two shades of red to add dimension, the bleach and color double process took up my entire afternoon.
Kala Salon: The Reveal
Anxious with a new stylist, I patiently waited for my color to saturate and then came time for the reveal. Rajan stepped in and blow-dried my hair and completed my cut. I was then faced with a new me!
My cut adds sophistication, but more importantly, the choppy layers have cut hair-drying time in half! My color is rich, eye-catching, and everything I love in a red.
My Kala Salon Experience
Clean space, comfortable environment, great conversation, and a makeover I was not anticipating sum up my experience at Kala Salon. Now I am left debating, does my next hair treatment start with a trip to Chicago? #NewJerseyNative
