Emerald Animal Prints: Desi Look Book

South Asian clothes come in an array of colors and variety of prints. I am often mesmerized by the combinations; however, sometimes it can be a bit too much! This emerald animal prints desi look is an example of too much, but there is always a way to keep the look wearable and approachable.

When I feel an outfit is too “desi” or ethnic, I counteract it and create balance with Western accessories.

This outfit combines peacock colors and cheetah print all on a shiny silk. I decided to play down the colors with neutral cheetah shoes and clutch. Now to shift to accessories, gold to compliment the nude cheetah.

My instinct was to turn to my collection of necklaces and I came across this Forever 21 piece. A statement necklace, like this one, only requires small earrings and these studs in turquoise did the trick!

My hair had been curled the night before, I enjoy day #2 of curls, but with this ensemble, it didn’t look cute, rather I seemed disheveled. I pulled my hair back into 3 sectioned ponytails creating this elongated single ponytail look.

The final piece is the make-up. Now that I had fallen in love with this East meets West ensemble, the make-up needed to either be muted and neutral or pull a pop of emerald. I, of course, opted for the louder of the two looks and a rich green eye pencil under my lower lash line rounds out this emerald animal prints look.
